Now based in Los Angeles and Berlin, Dave trained as a jazz musician and film editor before travelling to India where he then spent years in the Siddha Yoga ashram in Ganeshpuriashram in the 1990s studying kirtan. Dave has been profiled by Time magazine, the LA Times, and theYoga Journal as one of the pioneers of the New Kirtan Movement. Kirtan (from the Sanskrit word meaning 'to sing') is an East Indian form of mantra chanting that is becoming popular as a participatory live music experience at festivals around the world. He has released 5 albums of kirtan music and is in constant demand around the world leading workshops, yoga retreats and kirtan performances. Dave has collaborated with a number of other artists including Rasa, Donna DeLory and Toni Childs and has performed with Krishna Das and Jai Uttal. He also features on the soundtracks of the movie Matrix Revolutions and the video game Myst.
